They say time heals all wounds, but I say God is the healer and comforter of our hearts and soul and I think Ron would agree with me, if he were here. I look around and see so many of my family that are depriving themselves from the assurance that we have thru this eternal love which has been promised to us, if we accept it. I know Ronnie has for he showed it thru is life here on earth. He never spent a lot of time with his great grandmother, Cora Lee, but somehow he had a lot of her traits for she was a great lady and a big inspiration in my life. Comments: It's has been two years today since Ronnie's been gone. The way the time has flown by makes me think that it'll be just like tomorrow when I finally get to see him again. Then again, tomorrow seems like a long time to wait. It's funny the things you miss about a person when they're gone. In the days after Ronnie's death I was so fearful that I would forget him, his laugh, his smile, the sound of his voice, his quick wit, etc. Not that you take these things for granted when they're here it's just that the loss seems so final. However, I can now say when the person is gone the memories do become more poignant over time. Sometimes I hear his laughter in my own chuckle or catch his wit in my son's mischief, or best yet, see the sparkle of his smile in his daughter, Cora's face. These things all remind me that in many ways he is still here, never too far away. He is not gone for good but rather only absent from us temporarily. I even wonder if he misses us more and is anxiously anticipating

Comments: My deepest apologies. Ever since I was a kid I have always had the greatest admiration for policemen (almost became one myself for Coconut Creek). I think the so called sports heroes in this country pale in comparison to anyone who puts on a uniform and puts his life on the line every day. Now I am a collector and love to have something personal from an actual officer: I collect everything from sunglasses (duty worn of course), to ticket books, uniforms, hats, etc etc..even signed photos. Ron was the trooper that responded to that call. He was very nice, and talked to my son, who was about 6 at the time, to make him understand why some people don't treat others with respect. Comments: This is such a great tribute to Ron! You really did a great job putting it together. It is strange, I hadn't seen Ron for years...since Elkton days. Even though he was a few years ahead of me in school...I can still remember the sweet, fun, caring person he was in school, the fun we had on our bus trips going to games, etc. When I heard of his death, it really impacted me for some reason. Maybe because I had had recent contact with Len through a mutual friend which had brought me back in touch with your family...had heard about Ron's wedding, the birth of his daughter, etc. I think and pray for your family often. I can't even imagine the pain his death has brought to your family; however, I do know that comfort has come from knowing he is in heaven and you will all see him again some day...as will I and all who loved him and admired him. Comments: I met my classmate Nicole, #910, in July of 1995 at orientation day at the Academy as we embarked on our 'careers' with the DSP together. I met Ron 6 1/2 months later as he began training me as a rookie at Troop 6. I will never forget Ron's infectious smile, his calm demeanor as a teacher and his absolute love of the DSP. I learned quickly that Ron would send me home if I failed to show up for work in my boots and breeches, and he taught me what it meant to be a Trooper, which until that time, I'm not sure I realized was somehow different from being a police officer. Ron, #3653 and #3931 will always be 10-8! Nicole, remember that the decision to stay home with Cora Lee is something you should always be proud of. God Bless you both! Jason .

I don't remember if Ron even work a summer but, I do remember the beach or Troop 7 was not what he thought it was so he went back up north. For many years after that every time I'd see him I would joke with him about not being able to handle the beach Troopers life style. I know Ron could have made it here.
